Second Forum for Quran Calligraphy wraps up on successful note
Sheikh Majid congratulates participants and commends Ministry’s efforts
Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of The Culture and Arts Authority in Dubai visited the Second Ramadan Forum for Quran Calligraphy as it concluded at the Park Hyatt Hotel yesterday. HH Sheikh Majid was highly appreciative of the quality of the work being done by the calligraphers and commended the efforts of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, in organizing the Forum and promoting art and creativity.
At the end of the three-day forum, where 30 of the world’s leading Arabic calligraphy experts drawn from across the Arabic and Islamic world as well as Western nations completed a complete copy of the Holy Quran, all the calligraphers participating were awarded certificates of appreciation and recognition.
Presenting the awards was UAE Minister of Health, Haneef Hassan Al Qassim, who also honoured the jury presiding over the forum. Also at the forum was Bilal Al Bud0ur, Executive Director for Arts and Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development and a number of senior personnel from the Ministry and leading cultural figures from across the UAE.
